RENOVATIONS / CONSTRUCTION

                                                 

Safety regulations are in place for the renovation and repair of older homes with high levels of Lead (Pb) in paint. New building materials should be inspected for safety and quality, such as Strontium (Sr) in Stinky Drywall.  Portable XRF provides the simplest, most accurate testing method.

Innov-X offers two different instrument options: the mobile X-5000, and the handheld DELTA.  Both are available with the latest Silicon Drift Detector (SDD) technology and x-ray tubes for optimal performance.

QA / QC & FABRICATION
    
Fabricators can immediately verify incoming scrap and raw materials, as well as outgoing product. QA/QC inspectors can obtain chemistry and grade information in seconds, and can flag out-of-spec elements or nonconforming product instantly.

Material reports can be printed immediately on-site - resulting in more efficient and successful product deliveries and happier customers!

MEDICAL MATERIAL COMPLIANCE

 Many pharmaceutical and biomedical operations specify specialty alloys as part of their process and use Innov-X Handheld XRF for fast alloy verification as part of their overall quality program. The most common case is sorting stainless grade 316 from 304. In certain high temperature applications, higher grade nickel or cobalt alloys are specified - typically Hast C-376, Stellites, F-75 and others.
                                                                        
BIOMEDICAL IMPLANT INSPECTION

There is no more challenging or regulated use of alloy materials than human body implants. In biomedical applications many implants are cobalt alloys (typically F-75 type chemistry) where maintaining tramp iron concentration to below 0.2-0.3% is essential. Or, verification of titanium alloy grade is important. The Innov-X Handheld XRF offers excellent alloy verification for all these applications.


RoHS / WEEE

RESTRICTION OF USE OF HAZARDOUS SUBSTANCES (RoHS)

Innov-X XRF analyzers screen and quantify for up to 25 elements simultaneously, including all five RoHS elements. Testing results and Pass/Fail decisions are displayed real time as well as automatically saved in compliance with the RoHS Directive.

WASTE ELECTRICAL & ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT (WEEE)


EU's WEEE Directive puts the responsibility for the disposal or recycling of consumer electronics back on the manufacturer. Pb, Hg, Cr6+, PBB, PBDE and Cd, along with Cl, are among the many toxins that must be identified for the WEEE Directive. This Directive specifically requires separate collection and recycling of Hg-containing components and plastics containing Br-flame retardant.

During the recycling of EEE products, PVC (Cl) should be sorted out as it adversely affects the quality of other recycled products when processed in combination; and, any HCl produced can corrode recycling equipment.

IDENTIFY TOXIN-TREATED WOOD PRODUCTS

PORT SECURITY

NONPROLIFERATION: SECURING WORLD SAFETY

Finding, tracking and stopping shipments of dual-purpose materials intended for terrorist weaponry is critical. Often shipments are labelled as common industrial metal and alloy materials when in fact they are intended for the manufacture of nuclear or other terrorist weaponry.


Innov-X Handheld Portable XRFs can non-destructively detect these materials in seconds. Common ID Technology can be configured with multiple language UI and concurrent GPS data collection depending on your security intended use.
